I’ve been running the WhatWatt Homey app for about a week now. see Landis and Gyr Smart meter (model E450) and Homey dongle
The device is connected via M-Bus to the L+G E450 and delivers stable data in both the manufacturer’s app and on their website.
In Homey, however, I’m experiencing dropouts:
Case a) After an internet outage (router restart required).
Case b) Without any obvious reason. This has become more reproducible since I created virtual devices for Phase 1, 2, and 3 (W).
Each time, restarting the WhatWatt app in Homey fixes the issue — but of course this isn’t ideal.
Thanks for elaborating! I’ve experienced the issues you are describing as well. Unfortunately the whatwatt Go doesn’t provide any logging when the connection drops so the connection isn’t re-established by itself.
I’m currently running a test build with a fix that monitors the data coming in and reconnects when data drops. Keep you posted on that fix
I’ve just pushed an update (v0.2.4) that ensures the connection stays active even if the device’s IP changes. Running a device repair will now also refresh the IP.
hi Doekse and tlink, great so see your setup is working. When trying to connect via the app it indicates that it can’t find any new devices, while the whatwatt app is working fine. What am I missing? thanks for your help! Peter
Hi Peter, your Homey Pro will automatically search for the whatwatt Go on your local network. So make sure both devices are connected to the same network and are able to find each other.
