Hi everyone ![]()
I’m trying to integrate a Zigbee thermostat model _TZE200_9xfjixap (TS0601) directly with Homey Pro (2023) —
without using the Tuya Cloud app.
When paired through Homey’s native Zigbee inclusion, the device connects successfully but is recognized only as a generic “button”, so no thermostat capabilities are available.
My setup
-
Device: Zigbee thermostat
_TZE200_9xfjixap(Tuya TS0601 family) -
Integration: native Zigbee (not Tuya Cloud)
-
Homey version: Pro 2023 – latest firmware
-
Pairing: Add device → Zigbee → Generic Zigbee Device
Current behavior
-
Device pairs correctly.
-
Identified as “button”.
-
No temperature, target-temperature, or HVAC-mode capabilities appear.
-
In Developer Tools → Zigbee → Interview Data it reports:
manufacturerName: "_TZE200_9xfjixap" productId: "TS0601" endpoint: 1
Expected behavior / feature request
Please add a proper device mapping for this thermostat in Homey’s Zigbee driver so it behaves as a climate/thermostat device.
For reference, Home Assistant’s Zigbee integration (ZHA) exposes the following entities and controls for this model and similar Tuya TS0601 thermostats:
| Entity / Control | Description |
|---|---|
current_temperature |
Current room temperature |
target_temperature |
Adjustable setpoint (5 – 35 °C, step 0.5 °C) |
hvac_modes |
off, heat, auto |
preset_mode |
Manual / Schedule / Eco / Comfort |
child_lock |
On/Off |
temperature_calibration |
±9.9 °C |
window_detection |
Enable/disable |
anti_frost |
Enable/disable |
sensor_mode |
Internal / External / Both |
heating_mode |
Manual / Auto / Temporary hold |
backlight / beep |
Optional switches if supported |
This is the typical DP-based feature set of Tuya TS0601 thermostats; mapping these data points to Homey’s measure_temperature, target_temperature, thermostat_mode, onoff, and relevant settings would enable full functionality without relying on Tuya Cloud.
Summary
What happens now:
Pairs via Zigbee →
recognized only as Button.
What I’d like to achieve:
Native Zigbee thermostat support, exposing temperature, setpoint, mode, and lock features.
I can provide:
-
Full Zigbee interview data (clusters/endpoints)
-
Data-point mapping from HA or Tuya IoT
-
Device photos
Thanks a lot
— this thermostat is widely sold in Europe under various brands, and adding direct Zigbee support (no cloud) would really help many users.
