And no, I will not. I could thoughā¦ Iām a PHP, MySQL and JS (jQuery) web developer and designer. I could learn, but no sorry I am not interested. I bought this device because it was supposed to be a āeasy, no need to learn programming, program your houseā device. But in theory, without my knowledge in programming I could never create the flows that I have right now.
Please do not argue about uncovered eggs. Wait and see what makes 5.0 better. Compared to other smart home systems, we have few problems. There will never be a perfect system. Iāve tested a few systems and Homey is the best Iāve ever had. I say this out of conviction and do not get any money from Athom for it. Of course I am annoyed with Homey. But when I think back to the other manufacturers, the swearing is at the highest level. Letās talk about it when 5.0 is available and give developers room to breathe.

Since when are moderators paid by Athom? You realize this is a community with users & developers that spare a lot of their free time here for free? Itās a bit (understatement) negative towards those people imho. And again a very hard kick towards people that stay positive and refuse to burn down the device and the company. Like very rude and disrespectful personal attack on a moderator and really not open minded towards ppl that think otherwise.
And you check the forum 30 minutes every day? Great job. But iād rather have that the Athom developers spend their time doing useful things instead of crawling through all those whining topics answering ppl that will never be satisfied.

I just find it extremely strange that I burn down the Athom management and praise the community and still get a response from a moderator and developer as if he feels personally attacked. That tells me thereās something more behind it.

As far as I can read, it was a very nescassary update. Iāve read some users posting that they wanted this update more then 2 years ago and when they came back, it was still not done. Sounds like it has been a big issue.
My point is that I see @TedTolboom saying āI am sorry guys but I have to go on my holiday before fixing the rewrite, soo please disable the updatesā, that gives me a big āwhat the hell?ā.
Why should a community developer apologize for not being able to spend free time? And even more important; why does Athom state āour developers have been notified but could probably not keep upā, but looking at the discussion above nobody knew * about this?!
The community developers, you guys, are building this product. They are marketing the product as if the development team is the great engine, but in fact the community developers are the magicians. Thatās my whole point of what I am stating in the messages above. Itās a great strategy, not making enough money to hire specialists soo let the community work for us, butā¦ As mentioned before;
ā¢ Telling lies about ādevelopers are already working on itā in last email;
ā¢ Saying that a none-working BLE is the fault of a developer while itās stuck since their last update;
ā¢ Not being interested in what the community developers are facing on the forums.

Read my opinion as a big thanks to all the community developers. My Homey contains only one Athom app, the rest of my house functions on your programming. I just wish that Athom would give you guys more credits and tools to work with. Room for improvement. Letās just hope that it does not take two more years or if it does, letās hope that they think of another way to earn more money and keep the company alive. Cause this will not last forever this way.
