Zigbee pairing issues: New devices fail to interview or drop immediately (Homey Pro 2026)

Hi everyone,

I’m struggling to add new Zigbee devices to my Homey Pro 2023. Despite having a seemingly healthy mesh, I cannot pair new routers or end devices.

The Symptoms:

  1. diferents Plugs: When trying to pair (close to Homey or via a router), I get the error: “Could not establish connection, something went wrong”.

  2. Third Reality Humidity Sensors: They actually pair, but they drop from the network after a few seconds. I can only see the first temperature reading before they become unresponsive.

My Network State (see attached screenshot):

  • Channel: Zigbee is on Channel 15.

  • WiFi Interference: I have already moved my WiFi to Channel 1 (20MHz) to avoid overlapping.

  • Nodes: 12 nodes in total.

  • Routers: I have several routers (Sonoff, Al001, etc.) with 0% TX Error rates. The backbone seems very stable.

  • Attempted fixes: * PTP (Pull The Plug) for 15 minutes.

    • Trying to pair via specific apps (Third Reality, Nous, INNR) and generic Zigbee.

    • Keeping the device “awake” by pressing the button every 2 seconds during the interview.

    • Pairing near the Homey and near a healthy router (Node 6).

The Problem: It seems Homey refuses the “handshake” or the interview process. I haven’t reached the direct connection limit (only about 5 devices are direct, the rest are via routers).

Any ideas on why the coordinator is rejecting new interviews or why devices drop immediately after a successful pairing?

Thanks in advance!

Not sure whether this contributes to your issue, but Zigbee channel 15 partly overlaps with WiFi channel 1 (in its sideband).

A higher Zigbee channel (18 or above) would likely have less interference. I under channels 20 or 25 are the preferred ones in such cases, for compatibility reasons.
