Qustion is very easy, how i can add z-wave sensore device in a mesh networking using a router added to homey?
my homey pro 2026 is located in basement at my home and registered as router a Shelly mini1 gen4 (zigbee).
I added a temperature sensor in a room above my Homey Pro, but I can’t register other sensors even though there’s a router on the upper floor. How do I add it using the router and not Homey Pro?
You mean “Zigbee” in the title of your post, not Z-Wave.
With Homey you cannot force a device to pair “through” a particular router. If you really cannot pair them from the upper floor, you can try to pair it closer to Homey and then move it to the upper floor (this is almost always a bad idea, but since you can’t pair the device from the upper floor anyway it’s something to try).
OK I’ll try to register the sensor first near the Shelly Mini 1 Gen 4 router and then if I can’t near the Homey Pro. Once registered, is the use of routers automatic and dynamic?
In theory, a device should use a nearby router, but practically speaking this doesn’t always work. You just have to wait and see what happens. Sometimes, devices from certain brands don’t “like” each other, for instance.
Right, and sorry for the mistake, but I use both Z-Wave and Zigbee and I indicated the wrong type of network.
At the moment I have six Aqara LUMI Zigbee temperature sensors, one Shelly Mini 1 Gen 4 switch (therefore Zigbee), and about 10 Philips Hue lamps.
Regarding this, I believe I would improve the network by not using the HUE bridge and by connecting the lamps directly to Homey’s Zigbee network using the dedicated app. Is that correct?
Generally speaking, more router devices (like light bulbs) connected directly to Homey will improve the network (when they are connected to the Hue hub, they don’t count since the hub will create its own, separate, network).
Note that removing from the Hue bridge means the Hue mobile app will no longer work with those devices and you’ll no longer receive firmware updates for the devices connected directly to Homey.
