Finished the upgrade. I had to restore the backup from the cloud as it wouldn’t take the backup from USB but that’s fine.
I lost a couple of aqara door sensors although it’s likely I lost them before hand, they’ve never been great. One won’t reconnect though as it keep saying it belongs to another homey device . . .
I had an IKEA strip light flickering, had to repair that and lost a govee matter device which repaired straight away.
Only main issue was hue without bridge, lots of devices needed repairing, some I had to remove and re-pair.
Generally pain free considering what it could have been and what I’ve had with home assistant failures in the past
My ‘Tutorial’ didn’t age very well. Last couple of months some Aqara devices disappeared randomly and couldn’t be added anymore. Of course i’ve tried the trick of waking up some Zigbee connected devices simultaneously but this trick didn’t work this time.
So i’ve had it with the troublesome Homey Pro 2026 Zigbee issues and Athom’s lack of responsibility (or ability to solve this).
Zigbee2MQTT has been promising so far after adding 2 devices this evening. The flow configuration is slightly different from the awesome Aqara app but i can rebuild my flows now and will add all of my missing devices.
I did not read all new posts but hopefully the early ‘victims’ have solved their issues by now
