I am getting very discouraged by my Homey Pro. I had Futurehome from 2023-2025 and it worked like clockwork. I installed Homey Pro summer 2025 and it has also worked like a Swiss clock until I replaced the Homey Pro 2023 with Homey Pro 2026 to get advantage of double memory.
Then all my troubles started. I had basically problems all over the place with zigbee units not responding. I did run “repair” and for several units also full new pairing process, starting physically close to the Homey Pro and working may way through the units. Thing became better, but I cannot trust units to respond.
The worst place is a guest house which is a few metres away from the main building. Mark it had zero problems before the upgrade. I have reset/repaired the Zigbee units several times, and I have installed 2 Aeotec Zigbee range extenders to help with the signal, and also installed a zigbee dimmer outdoor between the 2 buildings (just around 1 meter from the guest house wall). All walls are wooden. Now most lights works most of the times, but it is not very often I am able to turn on and off all of them without at least one failing. There are 3 zigbee outdoor lamps close to the guest house, 2 of them always work and one of them work most of the time. And then the smoke detector on Z-wave has continuous connection. There is a batteri-powered Zigbee motion detector there, and I have not been able to find any signal outage with that one. And the floor heater (also Zigbee) has connection most of the time. So the questions are:
- After so many rebuild, reset and improvements, why the heck is it still not fully stable when it was prior to the upgrade?
- Is the best now to start resetting again?
- Or buy more range extenders?
- Or wait and let it fix itself?
How the **** can I get this stable? It is very annoying, as I have a lot of guest staying in the guest house, and I simply cannot have unstable lightening there. When people turn on a lamp and turn off a lamp, it simply must work.
In the guest house there are around 15 zigbee units, and in the whole estate, I am not sure - maybe 70-80 I would presume.
