X minutes before sundown doesn't trigger

I have a flow that has a trigger “30 minutes before sundown” after the trigger it should turn on the garden lights. It worked for more than a year and since 2 days it stopped working.

First I thought the lights didn’t work, but another trigger when waking up before sunrise works and turn the lights on. So it must be the “x minutes before sundown” that doesn’t work.

I have a Homey Pro 2025 (2 months) and before that the Homey Pro 2019

Any thoughts on how to fix this or do more people have this?

The built-in sun triggers aren’t the most reliable.
I installed the Sun Events app & problems are gone ever since.

I am gonna give that app a try.

@Peter_Kawa is usually right, however with little Homey memory left after loading so many additional apps, for each one a good purpose, I believe the best approach is to avoid new apps if Homey built in logic should do the trick:

  1. Notify Athom support: First, double check your assumption. Often, I found out that my assumption that a trigger did not work, was actually wrong and the action after the trigger did not work well.
  2. Make a catchall flow that works if by chance the sundown flow does not work and notifies you so you can deal with the first issue.

Tested the trigger on it’s own and send a push notification. That works

Testing the flow doesn’t produce errors and the lights turn on. I am lost.

So perhaps you had a hickup in the broadcasting network eg. if you used z-wave or Zigbee or something else. Or one of the elements was busy updating etc.

Best is to verify if the problem repeats.

Well the sunrise app works and gives more options. TNX
