Unable to restore backup to Homey Pro Mini

Hi

i have created a backup in Homey Cloud from a Homey Pro 2019. - that I want to migrate to a New Homey Pro Mini.

But when I add the Mini I never Get the option to restore backup - it goes directly and Only to the House Setup Wizard.

Any hints Will be highly appreciated !!

The migration path from Homey Pro 2019 I believe is only supported to Homey Pro 2023

Ok thanks. - but oh my god

Major set back and that is going to be a lot of work….

Hopefully / maybe there is a trick to do it somehow.

Not really, your device id’s wont be the same. You have to do it from scratch.

Ok - thanks

….in for a bit of work…:joy:

Odd. The Pro mini shares it’s firmware with Pro 2023.
It’s important to use the same account, @MiniUser, otherwise it can’t detect your stored backups;
When you start the setup, and add the Pro mini to the Homey app, at some point the menu should mention it found a backup >
Choose “Restore a backup” and select your cloud backup.

@Jeroen_Tebbens Hi Jeroen, from what I’ve read it’s not about a Homey Cloud :grimacing: but it’s about a cloud backup of a Pro 2019.
This can be restored to a Pro 2023, and I don’t know why it wouldn’t be possible to restore it on a Pro mini, it runs on same firmware.

I think the hardware footprint (lack of some antenna hardware features) is impacting compatibility.

Possible, maybe throwing in a bridge to add these antenna’s again might help :face_with_peeking_eye:
Just a brainfart.

This doesn’t really make sense, as it is possible to migrate from the older HP’s to the HP2023 that way.

It sounds more like an oversight, or Athom thinking that since the older HP’s were never officially sold in North America there wouldn’t be anyone migrating from an HP2019 to a HP Pro Mini.

As for the antenna’s: HP2019 has a Zigbee chip that’s incompatible with the HP2023 Zigbee chip, yet they made that migration work.

Fair enough, but that was not when they released it. They made it working after a while.
I think it’s a last effort push back on having the mini enter the European market.

That sounds very plausible, yes.

Hello again

Kindly Can I ask a follow-up question on this one?

I would like to migrate from HP2019 to Homey Pro Mini - but apparently it is not supported.

BUT… if I use a Homey Pro 2023 as an intermediate - Might it work?

Meaning: Migrating (restoring the 2019-backup) to a Homey Pro 2023. - and then migrating (restoring a Homey Pro 2023-backup) to the Homey Pro Mini.

Would that work ?
Did anyone actually do the latter part and/or know if that is supported?

Thanks a lot in advance for all answers !!
