Tuya Zigbee 2-Gang & 3-Gang Switches Detected as Unknown Devices in Homey

Hi everyone,

I paired both a Tuya Zigbee 2-gang and 3-gang wall switch with Homey Pro, but Homey detects them as “Unknown Zigbee Device.”

The switches work, but Homey only creates a single generic On/Off device. To control a specific gang, I have to open the device and manually select an endpoint from a dropdown. Because of this, I cannot create Flows for individual gangs.

Has anyone experienced this or found a way to get Homey to expose each gang as a separate controllable switch?

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks! :folded_hands:

If that’s the case, then neither of these devices are currently supported by any published Homey app.
Please install the following app and add the devices again after deleting them first:
https://homey.app/en-de/app/com.dlnraja.tuya.zigbee/Tuya-Unified/test/

If this app doesn’t support your devices, you can ask in the following topics if they can be added:

[APP][Pro] Universal TUYA Zigbee Device App - test
[APP][Pro] Tuya Zigbee App

That means the device is not yet supported directly. However, you can buy a Tuya Zigbee or MultiMode gateway and add them to Homey using the official Tuya app:

Thank u for ur replay . After i click on the app link i got this warning msg: Warning! This app might not work properly.

This app version is currently being tested, and has not yet been reviewed. It might not work as expected.
Be extra careful when installing this app.

« Back to the regular version

Is this normal , there is any risk to get this ?

Yes

Most probably not; this message appears in all test versions.
But if you have any doubts, please read through the related thread that I linked to earlier.

That message appears whenever the app version is not yet certified by Athom. This doesn’t mean that the app is unsafe or anything, it just means that this version/build hasn’t been checked yet by Athom.

Thank u so much for ur replay. I will check it out again . I also want to try the method you tell me that i can connect through tuya zigbee hub which i already have one . After i added from TUYA official app is show nothing inside, no device and no controls . Thr same if i try to add the zigbee devices inside the tuya that appear is show that device added but no functionality

You shouldn’t add the hub itself to Homey, you should add the switch (which is connected via the hub). I think you can select the “Plug” device type, since it works identical

Thank you again! Your workaround helped me discover all the switches in the Tuya app by adding the device as a plug.

After doing that, the device appears with multiple switches inside a single control. I can turn all switches on/off together, or I can individually control Switch 1 and Switch 2 from the device page.

However, the problem is that the switches are not exposed as separate devices in Homey. Because of this, when I create a Flow, I only see the main device and I don’t get separate actions or triggers for Switch 1 and Switch 2.

Is there a way to expose each switch as an individual device so they can be used independently in Flows?

My main use I want to do is when sensor detect movement is will trigger only one switch not the other

Yes, you can install the app Virtual devices and create a virtual device for each switch. Then, you can link the “real” device from Tuya to each of the 3 Virtual devices from a Flow. You can then control the virtual devices as 3 separate devices

I have installed the virtual devices follow the instructions. In the flow is show only switch 2 as u see in the attachment. Not sure how to correct this cause on the flow will only ability to control one 1 switch . Not sure if i did miss something, thank u for ur help

Use the “Turn [Switch] on/off” cards. You can select the specific switch there. You need to use separare Flows for turned on and turned off with the virtual device.

Its work perfectly, thank you so much. Just one more question. Is this would work even the Internet is down I mean, it will be locally or that would be depend. Depends on. Tuya cloud . My tuya zigbee hub will still link to my network

It doesn’t work without internet. However, when you do have internet, it will always work. I have had Tuya devices since 2018, and back then there were a few outages but I can definitely say that I haven’t encountered a single outage in the last 6 years of using Tuya products
