Tibber Heavy duty switch + water heater + on/off timer

Hi there,

I have tried to create an ADV flow with my homey pro. I am trying to set the Water heater to turn on at specific times, and then turn it off again when not used.

So the idea, is to turn it on an hour+ before usage, and then shut down, before cycle continues according to our schedules.

Could someone please give pointers if they have experience with similar or if something seems wrong?

Mucho gracias or much obliged.

B

Put every „if time is …“ as separate statement. Do not chain them.

Hi, thank you for the reply.

Would this suffice?

Well…just give it a try and find out! :grinning_face:

Note that in your topic title you refer to a ‘timer’. Your flow does not contain timers (only direct on/off commands).

If you want to use a timer to e.g. switch off the heater after an hour, you might want to check out the Chronograph app. You can use it to start a timer every time after you switch on the heater. In a separate flow you indicate what happens when the timer completed, like switch off the heater. This simplifies your current flow.

Hi,

Thank you for the reply

Did you mean something like this;

Edit: The top two cards = electrical power provider, which uses a heavy duty switch to turn on and off the heater, whenever the price is at the lowest for X amount of hours, and then turn if off for the highest price amount of Y hours.

I think the system will just override my 2 hours during peak price hours, but I will try.

Hi Bjørn, Adding lowest/highest price elements is indeed a nice add.

Regarding the timer: you can use it to e.g. always shut off the heater after a specified time, no matter how the heater was turned on. Below an example for a light (but the principe is the same). It automatically turns of the light after it has been on for 1 hour. My Homey is setup in Dutch so I have added some notes in English. Hopefully you get the idea.
