Tapo energy usage (P115 P110) no longer visible in Homey Energy

I have been using Homey’s energy dashboard for a few months with the energy usage insights from my Tapo P115 and P110 devices. However since a few weeks they are no longer showing up in the Energy section in Homey. I have enabled the ‘third party access’ in Tapo and with the Tapo official app I managed to add my P115 and P110 devices to Homey, where in the devices overview I can see their energy usage (after in Homey going to the devices > Settings > Advanced Settings > Monitor Energy Usage: switch to enable, go back and press Save), but in the Homey Energy overview it no longer shows up? I waited 2 days but still no luck. Any ideas? My Shelly smart plug does still show up with its energy usage in the Homey Energy overview.

Also an issue here since about November 10th, but I cannot even get the energy Info in the Single plug to work like it did before.

Athom/Koktail does not react to a ticket for this issue Yet.

Any updates on this? I have the P115 and it does not show any energy information.

After months of no reaction they have fixed it in the last weeks. Really a shame for an official homey app of such a large smart home device supplier that this Tool so long.

I cannot get it to work, no power reading from the P115 - going for IKEA version instead, no more Tapo for me.

Still no luck here either. It suddenly worked for a few days ~1.5 month ago but then it stopped working again. Removed the Tapo app and removed and added all devices but no luck.. Really hope this could get solved.

Anyone tried the local Tapo TP-Link community app as well? (‘Official’ doesn’t mean ‘better’ in any way).

I did use it when there was no official Tapo app yet, but it didn’t support most of my devices. When the official app got released I switched to that. I prefer to use cloud connections where possible since those are the most reliable in my setup.

Is the Tapo P110 now reporting power for you using the official Tapo app? I can install the official app, add my four P110s to it, switching on and off works well, but no power reporting whatsoever. What did you do to make it work? Thank you.

After months of reporting the issue, finally in Mrch they released the Homey Tapo App Version 2.1.7, since then it works again for me.

I’m on Tapo Homey app v2.1.16 and it doesn’t work. For me there also was a short period it started working again - could well be that was in March indeed.

Is there a way to downgrade to an older Homey Tapo app version? Maybe that solves it?

Only when you previously saved that version with an offline backup.

But it’s best to report issues to the developer, to improve the app.

I just noticed that my only remaining p110 also does not work. All my others are P115 that work again after not working between November 25 to March 26. It might be worth if you drop another issue email to homey and Koktail( who Maintain the Tapo homey app) that for P110 models the issue is still lot fixed!

Thanks for suggestion - I contacted the developer and he responded:
“We disabled the energy readout to improve the API limit that Tapo is using (on integration level). You can switch to local mode in the app settings (optin) that still reads energy usage.”

I tried giving a few P110/115 devices a static IP (in my Router in DHCP settings). Then in the Tapo Homey app set the mode to ‘enable local API connection’ via App Settings. Then for the individual P110/P115 devices in Homey I clicked Advanced Settings > Connection > and switched that to Local.
Update: this has solved it for me. Some tips: once I set the Tapo app to use local API I could not add any new Tapo devices - I had to switch the Homey Tapo app to turn off Local API connection and then again I could add devices, then afterwards switch it back to Local API. Sometimes resetting the Homey Tapo app helps in solving the ‘unavailable’ notification on some devices that were newly switched to local API connection.
