Hello together
I just noticed that the Tado X radiator thermostats aren’t showing the battery level in Homey. It’s not even an option anywhere. Has anyone else noticed this? Is there a way to change it? They’re connected via Matter. The bridge is also installed. The Tado app is running, and I can see the battery level there.
I think it’s not a value that is available via the Matter protocol. It’s not unusual that Matter connected devices have fewer “options” than when connected via other protocols. I’ve found a Home Assistant topic in which other also can’t view the Battery status via Matter: Using tado° Smart Thermostat X through Matter - #223 by Yachtmed - Matter/Thread - Home Assistant Community
Via API/cloud (which the Tado app is using) the value indeed is available.
Via the official Tado app (select the “Smart Thermostat”)
The official Tado app in Homey is installed. I don’t know how i get the valve working
I thought i did it with the tado app. In the app are 5 different Smart Thermostats, i choose the one that looks like the icon of the tado x
You should use the other thermostat driver, the tado X pairs via Matter and you need to pair the tado using the cloud integration. The regular “Smart Thermostat” works via cloud
i will check and test this, thank you for your help
Don’t forget to try the tadoZones community app as well.
It can run w/o problems next to the very basic “official” tado app.
It’s not a supported feature yet when used with other ecosystems.
However, there is a new firmware in the works from Tado and it should be rolled out over the coming weeks.
Here’s the relevant thread discussing the issue.
Thank you Peter_Kawa, works great.
Battery levels are now in Homey. Although they did it the super lazy way, without a percentage. Typical!
