Hi, it all started so well with Homey, but for the past few days the system has been constantly causing problems.
… The Homey app keeps showing me a timeout message, “Timeout After 1000ms,” and I’m getting really annoyed by it.
Furthermore, the app shows a light as “on,” but it’s actually “off.” I’ve uninstalled the app and restarted Homey, but nothing helps.
Now I’m reading about things like “factory reset,” but then everything will be gone, and I’ll have to set it all up again. Yes, I just bought the backup version, but I can’t see where I can create a backup—hoping that I can then reset the device and restore everything. I really don’t want to have to recreate all my devices and all my flows.
None of the devices are responding right now, and honestly, I don’t know why!
My RAM is more than 3GB, and I only have six apps installed.
Your description is somewhat vague in terms of where exactly you are getting the timeout. Is it a timeout from Homey, or a timeout from a device that Homey is trying to control?
One place where I have experienced this is when a (zigbee) device is not responding. I encountered this when I first started out and my zigbee network was not “strong” enough. A device I was trying to control was too far away from my Homey or other zigbee routers, so Homey kept giving me timeout errors.
Perhaps you can share a little more about the devices you are trying to control. How were they setup? Which protocols are you using (wifi, zigbee, z-wave…)? Also, in you are using zigbee, did you physically move you Homey or any of the devices after the initial pairing?
What version of Homey? What protocol (Zigbee by any chance)?
Last week my whole Zigbee stopped working, created a ticket at Athom.
When visiting https://tools.developer.homey.app/tools/zigbee i got the following error:
Zigbee could not be started
controller_start_failed
Trying to control a device also returns a Timeout After 10000ms
