Switching is very slow

I have 47 Z-Wave Switches and 49 Zigbee RGBW controllers. Memory and storage are about 1/2 of available. Using ZooZ and Enbrighten switches.

Zigbees respond fine when controlled by the App.

When triggered by flows from the switches there is a long lag and poor response. It seems to have gotten worse.

I have reset and repaired the Zigbee network.

Any thoughts?

Hi @Craig_Engel ,
please tell us a bit more, about your environment, your configuration and observations.
We cannot read your mind and guessing is rather difficult and often leads to misunderstandings.
So I guess you have a Homey Pro (probably early 2023) .
How are the zigbee controllers connected to Homey, directly or via cloud? Which apps do you use?
So you have at least one flow, which is triggered by a z-wave switch event and does some action on the RGBW devices, which take too much time. Can you share a flow - not too complex - to understand what happened (screenshot as picture)?

Which App do you mean? Is it the Homey App where you can switch the devices or is it the producer’s app like Tuya, Ikea or what ever the producer offers?

Does the flows act only on one RGBW device at one time or do you try to switch many devices in one flow?
Did you run the flow automatically or did you push the test from here button in the flow?
Do you know, if it is the z-wave switch that cases the delay or the zigbee device?

There are so many possibilities, which might lead to a delay or make you think there is a delay, which I have read about in this forum, that based on your information, it could be everything, starting from bad flow design, unwise use of apps, overloading homey by asking for too many switch actions at the same time up to simple misunderstanding of the test function in the flow.

Did you already try to find something in the community (zigbee slow or z-wave slow)?

Homey cannot control over X devices at once.

Thank you for your reply.
Homey Pro 2023
Connected directly

I am a home builder and have started using Homey for Automation. I have almost the same setup and flows in another residence that works perfectly.
All of the flows below lag. Return a timeout or network error, and eventually turn on sometimes. Same response when turned off.

Here is the App Zone. Notice the associated Zigbee controllers are not on.

Again I have a similar setup in another residence with the same switches, controllers, and flows, that works fine.
I have reset the Zigbee network and repaired all devices> I have tested all Z-wave devices in the Developers App.

Thank you

The Homey app is where the controller responds quickly.
Most flows are one controller. A few flows are multiple. Both are slow.

The flow is triggered from the Homey app switch icon.
I am not sure which device is lagging.
I searched the forum. I did find something about the power supply. I’m pretty sure that is not it, I will double-check
.
Thank you

Thanks Craig,
at least or unfortunately there is no simple issue. You are not forcing a complete zone to witch at the same time and the only app I do not know, is better lights. If that identified to creating the delay, you may ask within that app.
Perhaps someone else knows more.
I would propose to extend one of the slowest with some debug information like

(Sorry for the German flow, but I hope it is clear, what i mean.)
Then you can see, if it is slow to recognise the button being pressed or the RGBW controller to react. You can even create a new flow that pushes the button. Then you can have a complete picture of the whole structure.
And then try not to push the button in the Homey App, but push the physical button to avoid any influence of the Android/IOS app.

If it’s output voltage is too low, Homey throttles the CPU. Especially when you use an ethernet dongle, make sure the unit delivers 5.2VDC

Throttled CPU makes everything slower.
Probably not as extreme as you pictured, but we"ve got to start somewhere.
→ Install the SysInternals app, to get notified in cases of throttling.

Does the “Better Lights” app run well at the other location?

Yes the app runs fine at the other location.
