I’ve got a Homey SHS running most of my devices and flows. Today it has all stopped and tells me I need a subscription but I also have a homey pro and was told that the access I have through that would apply to the SHS. Is there something I’m missing? Do I have to connect something somewhere?
Who told you that? Homey Pro and Homey SHS are different products. Yes, SHS also needs a subscription, even if you have a Homey Pro. It’s not like you get a discount on a second Homey Pro when you already have one, right? The same applies to SHS, it’s a different product and it requires a €5/month subscription or a €150 lifetime license
Just FYI @Targaid , there’s a KB article about that (and many other info)

Looking back it was the AI assistant, but I had asked the question kinda the other way around. I started with a SHS and asked if I’d still need second subscription to add the Pro I was thinking of buying. Its answer was technically correct but from a certain point of view (to quote a certain dissembling Jedi). It clearly thought I was talking about the Pro. Talking to AI is a minefield.
As to the devices point you make well, yes. Again; from a certain point of view. I’d refer this more to my Amazon Echo devices. If I decide to use Alexa+ without a Prime account I have to pay a subscription but I don’t have to pay one to use every Echo device I own. Same with a Nabu Casa subscription if I had gone the HA route. I’d pay one subscription regardless of the number of devices I ran HA on. I realise that Homey devices don’t work quite the same way but I just paid £400 for a Pro (that turned out to be the old model and refurbished at that, but that’s a different topic) I thought that my Homey account would cover access to the software not each device. When/if I buy a new Homey device I’m paying for the hardware unlike with a SHS so I understand why if I only have a SHS I should pay for access to the software but if I already have a ‘lifetime subscription’ via my hardware… Doesn’t matter. I’ve deleted the SHS and I’ll see how far I get with just the Pro. ![]()
