Hi, I am using Soundboard on my late 2019 model to play alarm sounds in the event that my main speakers (SONOS) fail (which they are prone to do from time to time).
However, it seems that the Soundboard app only allows “play” and no way of stopping a sound file once started. I thought perhaps playing another sound might stop the first one, but Homey just layers them on top of one another.
Is there any way to stop the sound file from playing, once started?
No, and its also not technicly possible because of how Homey was build.
I am the developer of the Muziek Url Omzetter App voor Homey | Homey app.
This app allows for files larger than 900kb to be played from the network (instead of just Soundboard).
It has the exact same issue: once a file starts playing, it cannot (really) be stopped.
At least, the files are split in 20 seconds files, and each 20 secondpart, once its started, must finish.
I am wondering what your sonos issues are tho?
Because mine never fail to play sounds or speech or whatever.
Did you give the sonos speakers fixed/static/reserved IP adresses, because this solves a lott of issues.
Yes they have static IPs but sometimes, but very occasionally they go offline and I use the Homey Pro as a backup
They go offline from Homey or also in the Sonos app themself?
