Sonoff SNZB-01P appearing as a battery in Homey Pro 2023

I tried to add 2 brand new buttons to my Homey Pro 2023, via the official Sonoff app. Both buttons only appeared as batteries with no button actions available. I tried adding them as generic zigbee devices as well and the same thing happened. It seems others have added these buttons successfully, I am out of ideas any help would be greatly appreciated

Battery-powered buttons cannot be controlled from the Homey smartphone or web app. That is why only the battery is displayed.

You need to create appropriate flows so that an action is triggered when you press the physical button.

When…
– Single click
Then…
– Switch light on

When…
– Double click
Then…
– Switch TV off

Thanks! the issue is that there is no available actions for the button either except related to battery levels etc.

Maybe we misunderstood each other…

When you create a flow, will the following flow cards be available for the Sonoff SNZB-01P?

no only the battery level one is there, none of the button actions at all. I bought 3 new buttons and all 3 behaved the same…

I did all the usual stuff, removed them, deleted the app, added it back, rebooted the homey. Sonoff is fairly new here in Australia and this is the first device I have tried from them.. it’s weird

Could you please check what the product IDs are for your buttons?

Open the device tile → :gear: → Advanced Settings → Zigbee Device Information → Product-ID

Edit

Forget about that. Since I don’t use that button myself, I can’t compare the product IDs… :man_facepalming:

Are there any flow cards for this button at all?
If so, could you post a screenshot of these f ow cards pls?

Lots of battery automation options!

The app must be broken!

I have four of these at home since quite a while and all that are configured works fine.

But: I can’t add or change actions on any of existing or add my spare button.

There are no config options for button click, dbl click or long press… :frowning: Only several battery related options!

But as said, all existing buttons seems to work as supposed!

Edit:
Mailed StyraHem Sweden (info@styrahem.se) and reported the issue. Please do the same so they are aware that the issue exists for several users"

Okay, that’s weird!
There’s definitely something wrong with the SONOFF app, as @Jocke_Wallen already mentioned.

You can also try the test version of the app to see if that fixes the problem.

Instead of mailing, it’s also possible tu report bugs on GitHub → Issues · StyraHem/Homey.Sonoff.Zigbee · GitHub

TY, didn’t think about Github…
Seems like it’s already reported:
SONOFF SNZB-01P #73

That means that they marked the Flowcards for the button press as deprecated. You can still duplicate existing Flows though to continue using them. Deprecated Flowcards still work (as long as you keep the run listener), but they won’t show up when creating a new Flow

Well, hopefully they can/will fix that as these switches are still for sale.

StyraHem responded and said it appears that there it has been reported on several platforms. They think there are multiple hardware variants for the switch and that is causing an issue with the newer models. I have sent some more detail to them this morning so they can analyse it. Thanks for your help!

I’m having the same problem as the snzb-01p with the snzp-05p. The LED keeps flashing in a loop, causing it to not send events while flashing, which leads to premature battery drain.
The same devices connected via zigbee2mqtt are included and enter sleep mode, only waking up to send events. The strange thing is that I have reports from other users that they work correctly with the same firmware version. I’ve opened two issues on their GitHub, but I never get a response from the developer. If they were working fine before, it can’t be that something has changed in the Homey Zigbee core that has caused this problem, @Doekse There wasn’t any work being done on an app developed by Athom for Sonoff.

These are very widely used devices, and there isn’t an app that works with all of them. I’m coming from Home Assistant and I’m giving Homey a chance, but I’m becoming more and more disappointed with it. We’re not talking about Tuya devices, of which there are hundreds; we’re talking about an established brand sold worldwide.

Regards

As mentioned before, we’re planning to revisit the SONOFF app and develop a new version that supports the full range of SONOFF Zigbee and Matter devices. However, with us onboarding nearly two new official partners every week, both our internal team and our development agencies are currently operating at full capacity.

The existing official app, originally developed by Styrahem, will most likely serve as the foundation for this new app. To provide some additional background, Styrahem is one of our shared distributors and initially developed the integration. However, app development isn’t their core business, so we’d like to transition the ongoing development and maintenance to one of our dedicated development agencies, allowing Styrahem to focus on what they do best.

I checked my SNZB-01P buttons and saw that they are all “Manufactured” by eWeLink.

All has same detalis;

Manufacturer ID: eWeLink
Model: SNZB-01P
FW: 2.2.0

All bought from Amazon.

Is this normal or might these be fake?

Mine are exactly the same. I believe they are genuine.
