Hi there @Doekse
So I’ve been using Ztatz P1monitor for years, I now run it a docker and I would like to continue using it. Would it be possible to make your new dongle support Socat so I can use it both Homey and P1Monitor?
Cheers
Hi @robertklep , thanks for this info! I now understand that should have included that in my starting post. But I was hoping for a more network based solution. I have an unraid machine running Docker and its nowhere near the p1 port hence the Socat request Sure I could hookup a pi and connect it to that but I was hoping to be able to minimize the amount of machinery
Ah right, sort of like a built-in ser2net. It would probably be pretty easy to add something like that, although I don’t think Athom will.
Instead of an RPi you could also use an ESP32 and either power it from the USB-C port (if possible, probably not though) or the P1 output port (if you have a recent-ish smart meter that provides 5V). That would cost only a few € and although you’d have to write the firmware it wouldn’t be extremely difficult.
