Hello members,
We’ve recently purchased a house that is heated by two accumulator batteries: a Dimplex S50 E (6 kW) and a Dimplex S70 E (9 kW). These are controlled by the Unicomp 557 regulation module located in our electrical cabinet, and the system operates on a three-phase network. Currently, the batteries mostly charge during the night, depending on the settings of the Unicomp and the outdoor temperature.
The system feels quite outdated, especially when compared to modern applications and in combination with our solar panels, which results in monthly electricity bills of around €600. Therefore, I’m looking for a smart solution to replace the current regulation module with one that supports modern smart features. I’ve already ordered an Energy Dongle to plug into our digital meter and I have a Homey Pro.
My goal is to create a system where:
- The accumulator batteries only charge when desired, for instance when the solar panels are generating sufficient energy.
- The charging power can be dynamically adjusted, as it’s not always necessary to charge at full capacity.
Does anyone have experience with a similar project or any suggestions on how to approach this? All advice and ideas are welcome!
Thanks in advance for your help!
