New to Homey and slowly adding all my devices over from SmartThings.
There are some things with thank to the comminity ive got working well, there are some that dont have apps.
One such device is the Candeo Zigbee rotarty dimmer.
I can add it as a generic zigbee device and it works, i can also add it using the Tuya app and the Hue app so i can mske it work. However if i physically move the rotary dimmer, whilst the brightness changes on the physical light it does not update in homey. Even if connected theough Hue as a Hie device, it wont reflect the physical dimming in the app. Smartthings handled this easily so thats a shame because i was under the impression Homey was a more versatlie machine.
Is there anyone that would be able to help create an app for Candeo? I have reached out to their support but they are concentrating on other platforms now.
Im by no mesns a coder but Chat GPT has explained it all in full steps. Sadly my mac is too old to run NodeJs smoothly so i cant complete the steps needed
Ive also noticed this with Sonos. Whilst stop and play and volume work. The track id and image either dont keep up and Homey is stuck on the original
Track image and name despite several
Tracks having played. Same with the volume or physical buttons. Smartthings and alexa respond immediately, homey does not recognise button presses on the sonos devices.
Thats a real shame!
I am experiencing the same issue as you are with regards to Sonos. The speakers can be triggered just fine, but the device info does not update correctly. This makes actions such as “speaker is/is not playing” unreliable to use in flows…
No idea how to fix this… Seems like a sonos/homey app issue
I spoke to Homey support who were very good and replied quickly. they could not replicate the issue.
I have found re-installing it all has helped but its nowhere near as responsive as other hubs / platforms and like you its just making routines/flows impossible.
Ill mention this to them as there is clearly an issue
Out of curiosity do you use apple music?
They tested with Spotify and said it was fine
I use Spotify as a service, via the sonos app. The issue is most apparent on my Ikea symfonisk lamp speaker. My arc and arc ultra are a bit more responsive.
The ikea speaker got triggered last evening via a flow, and started playing. It played for 11 hours without ever updating the status in homey to ”playing”.
Edit: i just restarted the Honey Sonos app, and it started registering played state right away… I will see for how long this lasts, and if it breaks down again I will get a diagnosis report and contact Homey support…
I have several sonos but currently due to refurb only got 2 of them turned on and the issue is with both.
Yes if you Can you flag this to Homey Support. Ive sent this link to them but it would be great to get it recorded.
Dont know if your aware of this news. I had an email from Homey Support saying many are now reporting the sonos issue and it is one they are investigating
Hopefully sorted soon
