This is my honest review of the Shelly Plus Wall Dimmer. In the video I walk through wiring, WiFi setup, SmartThings integration, and Homey Pro local control. I also cover the SmartThings discovery challenges and show the Advanced Flow I built in Homey.
The dimmer is UL certified, WiFi and Bluetooth, requires a neutral wire, and supports up to 400 watts incandescent or 150 watts dimmable LED or CFL. The switch is a standard four wire install: Line, Load, Neutral, and Ground. The touch slider feels premium. When you run your finger up and down it responds instantly. No lag. No stutter.
Once your dimmer is integrated on your local LAN, go inside the Homey app and find and install the official Shelly app. Then go to the Devices tab, tap the plus sign, select Add Device, choose Shelly, and in the list of device types, select the option to install “Any Shelly WiFi Device.” In most cases, Homey finds it automatically. If it doesn’t, grab the IP address from your router or the Shelly app and enter it manually. Once added, the dimmer responds instantly and local control is fast and reliable.
