I want to control (turn on/off/dim up/down) all the lights in a given zone with a remote control. The problem is - creating a flow or andvanced flow or a script for each remote/zone, with four different commands is a lot of work, and seems unneccecary, since the only difference between the zones is the name of the zone, and the name of the remote control.
I want any press on any remote to trigger the same script, passing along the name of the remote and which button was pressed.
So i figured i could make a script that takes the commands (on, off, up, down) from any of my remotes, applied them to the zone where the remote is located. it would get the zone name from the name of the remote.
This is perhaps a bit nerdy, but it would save a lot of work. turns out, neither I or any AIs i have acces to can solve this whithout creating an advanced flow for each remote, with a “card” for each button press, to then pass that on to the script that can handle dimming.
Can someone please kill this idea once and for all, or provide a plausible solution?
