Seperate frontdoor keypad with fingerprint sensor

Hi!

I have the Bold smart lock with Bold connect.

Now I would like to buy a keypad with a fingerprint sensor. But I can’t find a keypad with a fingerprint sensor that works separately. I only find bundles or separate keypads for specific smartlocks, but it doesn’t say anywhere whether the keypad with fingerprint can also be used separately.

So I would like to create a flow that if a fingerprint is recognized, the Bold smartlock becomes active.

Bold doesn’t sell keypads, they only have a clicker or it goes via the app.

Hopefully this is possible, I can’t figure it out myself.
I think I’ve already searched the entire internet :stuck_out_tongue:

DIY:

The on/off functionality most probably can be used with Homey while it’s ESP based:

But,
The fingerprint recording should be done with Home Assistant like the guide shows;
This is quite easy to (temporary) run from a pc/laptop:

@Peter_Kawa

I was hoping you could buy a separate keypad with a fingerprint scanner that you can link to Homey.

I find this a bit too complex :sweat_smile:

I understand, but there seems very little (keypad +) fingerprint sensors avaliable, which are Homey compatible.
I couldn’t find anything.

I ran into that too.

@Peter_Kawa Are there keypads where you only have to enter a code or an nfc keypad?

If one of those keypads is available and you can connect it to homey without having to do much DIY yourself that would be perfect.

Its really surprising that there is no out-of-the box zigbee/WIFI fingerprint reader on the market…

I ordered and ESP32 and R503 fingerprint sensor and will try the DIY solution.

Luckily, I was able to return the Bold smart lock.

I’ve had the Switchbot Ultra with the Vision Keypad for two months now. It’s a real godsend; you can unlock the lock with your face/fingerprint and PIN. Fingerprint and face unlock are incredibly fast; it recognizes your face and fingerprint within a second.

I don’t want to go back!
