Dear Homey Support Team,
I recently purchased the Homey Lifetime license and have been integrating it into my setup, currently running in a self-hosted environment on Synology. Overall, I see strong potential in the platform, but I have encountered several issues and limitations that I would like to report and clarify.
-
Automatic Updates in Self-Hosted (Synology)
Description: Managing updates in the self-hosted deployment on Synology appears to be non-trivial and somewhat unclear.
Issue: The update process does not seem to be automated or straightforward, which increases maintenance effort and potential for version inconsistencies.
Expected behavior: A clearer or more automated update mechanism for self-hosted environments, or at least more explicit guidance/documentation.
Actual behavior: Manual intervention is required, and the process is not intuitive. -
Missing Energy Consumption Data in Browser Interface
Description: When accessing Homey via a web browser, I am unable to view energy consumption data or related reports. Energy data and reports appear to be missing in the browser version. -
Custom Dashboard Creation
Description: The website indicates that customizable dashboards are supported.
Issue: I am unable to locate where or how to create these dashboards within the interface.
Expected behavior: A clearly accessible section or tool for creating and managing custom dashboards.
Actual behavior: No obvious option or documentation path to create dashboards.
Additional notes:
-
My setup includes integrations such as KNX and multiple automation flows.
-
I am comfortable providing logs, screenshots, or additional technical details if needed.
I would appreciate clarification on whether these are known limitations, configuration issues, or features planned for future updates.
Thank you for your support.
Best regards,
