Programatically change the device icon on the homey dashboard

I have a switchbot device that opens and closes my gate. Is there a possibility to programatically change the icon on the homey dashboard , so i can indicate that my gate is closed or opened.

Not an answer on your question but…

Download a *.SVG icon file of a gate (Scalable Vector Graphics file) from the internet.

Download this app.

Select your *.SVG file

Now make a flow with your switchbot device and your new ‘Main Gate’ button

Your topic title is not clear what the question is. Please see Welcome to the forum!

And the answer is no. This is not possible with Homey, the device icons are static.

Only thing you can use for a visual indicator is the on/off or a status indicator.

Thanks Dijker, that’s clear

As a workaround, you can create an advanced virtual device which ‘mirrors’ the original device.
You can’t change the device icon with flows, only manually, but you can show different emojis as status indicator.

Thanks Peter, i’ll have a look into that.
