Power Outage set all devices to last state

I’ve read a number of threads related to power outages but nothing I’ve read covers this scenario. Is there any way to set all devices to revert to last state independent of the Homey Hub? Meaning that the setting is applied to the device not just the hub?

We had a series of brown outs which forced the lights back on in our kiddos room and they were full bright despite settings counter to that in the Hue iOS App.

The lack of this as a system-wide setting is giving me every reason to return my Honey Pro.

It depends on what you call ‘smart’.
Conventional lights don’t turn on by themselves.
‘Smart’ lights can (and will).

You seem to have the idea Homey is pre-programmed for your situation only.
I have the idea it is just another tool, to create what I like, including ‘what to do when things go south’.

  • Last state = might be convenient, but when the state of the majority was off, ánd the controller (Homey f.i.) is (still) down, you never can turn on those lights now by powering off and on ‘the old fashioned way’
  • Always off = a PITA when their controller is down. You never can turn on those lights now by powering off and on ‘the old fashioned way’
  • Always on = to me, the best default setting, to be able to turn smart lights on and off, independent of the state of the controller or network

I use this flow f.i., with which you can start every scenario you program, in case of power failures:

And with help of the Zone Memory app f.i., you can save the state of all lights, say every 5 minutes.
With the Homey restart trigger, you can recall that state very easy.

I think to write that on a users forum is pointless. Burn it, smash it, I don’t care :grimacing:

I am looking through the available “When…” cards, I don’t see the System card for “Homey has started” in the normal or advanced flows. Do I have to create some a variable?

Oh, my bad. You’ll have to enable Experiments > Power User for it to become available.
