Notification sounds for Homey App

Okay, now I’m starting to doubt my mind.. :joy:

I’ve been using android since the first HTC.. Now on a Samsung ultra..

But I can’t find any place in android or in the app to set notification sound depending on event?

I get the standard system sound for regular notifications but the alerts from the alarm and water leaks and such.. It’s got to be the most stupid song I’ve hear as an alarm sounds.. :joy:

But I can’t find where to change it??

You might have to file a request with Athom

As a work around in the meantime you could use an app like pushover along with its partner Homey app to send alerts and then you can customise alert sounds. Gives you lots more options as well.

The critical alert sound is the same as your default alarm clock sound. I also don’t understand why they don’t use a siren sound or something similar

You mean that I’ve not lost my mind and that I can’t change it?? :open_mouth:

Thanks!
I’ll look into it!

And raise a request with Athom..
That’s a limitation that’s just stupid.

On the phone?

Yeah that’s where I expect it to be as well.

Sorry for the Swedish but yeah, it’s not there.. That’s the problem.

I use a Galaxy S21, no clue why you see an other screen.
Did you check “…More > Permissions” settings?

By the way, you can easily translate text on images with

I also don’t have the notification categories (Galaxy S24 FE), seems like they removed that in their newer models

That explains it @Peter_Kawa

You don’t have One UI 8 and therefor still have that setting.. It was removed in One UI 8 and the app is supposed to manage to sound setting.

Yes it’s One UI 7, I didn’t know about that (significant) change in sound settings.

When apps are supposed to manage sounds with One UI 8, your best shot is to contact Athom support https://homey.app/support

My tablet runs One UI 8 as well, and same as your phone: no way to change sounds.
I didn’t notice yet cause my tab is not allowed to make any noise whatsoever

Newer need to think about it tbh..
I think all other apps where I use a different sound have updated already..
Then again, it’s not very often you set a specific sound for an alert.
Except when using it for alarms of different kinds..
