Not seeing correct on-off status of wall plug

I am using a frient wallplug type SPLZB-131 manufacturer Develco. It is paired to my zigbee2mqtt and so linked to my homey.

So far so good, works well. The only thing is, when I switch on the wallplug directly with the small button on de plug, in my Homey it shows as, OFF, while it also shows the power consumption. Of course when I turn on the plug from my homey UI, the wallplug does show as ON.

I have also seen this with smart plugs from other brands. Not a real showstopper, but it is peculiar.

Any ideas of the cause and possible solution ?

Start by checking the state of the device in Z2M: if it’s not showing correctly there, it’s not a Homey issue.

Indeed that was the issue z2m did not have the status correctly, could repair it my setting the report interval for the onoff attribute to 5, it was zero.

Yes, that was going to be my suggestion if Z2M wasn’t showing the correct status. Occasionally reporting isn’t set up properly, or needs to be done explicitly.

I would like to mention that this switch in your screenshot…

…has never displayed the actual switching status of a plug.
This icon is just a kind of legenda for the different categories within a device.

Or am I misunderstanding your problem?

You are 100% correct, I just checked. Normally you see the off devices greyed out, and the on devices more bright in the UI, so it was my wrong assumption that this switch icon would reflect the status. But only when you click on it, the actual on/off status is shown.

But nevertheless, the status was not shown correctly in Homey UI, due to an incorrect report setting in Z2M, after fixing the report setting, the status is also shown correctly in homey.

Sharp eye to see this, thanks.
