Noob question: why does "solar" stay empty

Peculiar, while an AVD with device class ‘Solar Panel’ should be available to PbtH as well.
Both AVD (Device Capabilities) and VD apps are owned by the same dev, Arie.

Don’t shoot the messenger

Not shootin’ anyone, sorry if it seemed that way.
I was just wondering why an AVD wouldn’t work, and a VD does

No worries!

I agree, it is odd. Perhaps it is caused by a device not exposing itself immediately to the other.

Anyway. I have a working Virtual Device.

The overall Energy presentation is still incomplete, but it is still a Beta.

Thanks everyone!

Update:

Reporting nicely!

PS

I did exclude the Solis inverter from reporting energy, as it might double the solar production stats. It failed to report earlier, but seemed logical to do as it also showed up in the Energy tab overview.

Cannot get the animation working either. Solar + home always stay empty while all devices are configured as they should be. Grid is hiowever always OK. Strangely, I discovered recently that when I look early in the morning before the panels are getting active, the “Home” value is shown (same as grid value) but disappears for the rest of the day. Personaly I think there are some bugs in the Energy tabs as I tried almost ecerything. Any other suggestions???

Are you running the Solis Test App and have you re added the Solis Inverter?

The picture shows the Solis App, but I deleted it as I also have the Qubino smart meter on these panels. Unfortunately, just as the Solis inverter app, the Qubino smart meter also shows no values. Since the “home / huis” value is also missing I am pretty convinced that there goes something wrong with the Android app.

You don’t only have to re-add the Solis device, but, if app version is below v1.2 2, first update the app, to the latest (test) version, then remove the Solis device, and then add it again, like @Eternity adviced in fewer words.

Because only then Solis will start to show energy (kWh) values.

Show device settings please, you’ll have to enable/disable certain flags to have it appear in the energy tab the way you prefer.

This is completely unrelated

OK, thanks Peter.
Concerning the flags, these are my flags for the Qubino power meter. This power meter has been defined as “solar panel” and directly connected to the solar inverter. (this time without using the Solis app). As informed both Solis App as Qubino power meter refuses to show the values on the animation

energy_cumulative_include should be enabled I think, Bernard.

Z-wave:
When z-wave becomes slow, sluggish or unresponsive,
I would increase the powerReportinginterval interval a bit (to 1 or 2s)

Solis:
Didn’t it make a difference to remove the Solis device from Homey, update the Solis Cloud app, and then adding the Solis inverter again?
If not, you’d best contact the developer by posting here

Solved, as you informed, reinstalling the Solis app a second time did the trick. Many thanks Peter

After Homey pro update to 12.4.7 and 9.3.0.1760 again empty values on the home visualisation. Unfortunately a reboot an reinstall of the Solis app and homey dongle didnt work this time. I think there is still something wrong with the visualisation widget. I have also downgraded the Android app to version 9.2.4.1746 on my tablet. Both versions show no differences, so it leaves me to think it happened while upgrading the Homey Pro (early 2023) to 12.4.7
