I’m also curious where you found that info about the older models, not mentioning the existence of the 2023 model 
The idea is you throw in a €70 Homey bridge to add z-wave and other radios 
BUT then you’ll end up with a z-wave-over-wifi Frankenstein protocol (the bridge hasn’t got an ethernet connection), not sure if someone is into that construction (when not needing to cover longer distances)
