New to Homey - Creating "Scenes" with 50+ lights?

Hi!

I’m new to Homey and come from Smartthings.
So now I’m trying to recreate some 130+ scenes and automations (ie Flows) with about 300 devices.
Most a small and simple with like 3-10 devices involved but I also have massive scenes like Night mode and stuff where I set up some 50 lights/plugs.
Plugs are easy, on or off but having 50+ hue lights which all needs dimming, temp and so on set..
Do I really have to add each device with each setting as one card and click 5-7 times per card??
Just one ceiling light have 10 bulbs with different settings, that’s 20 cards?

Turning off what as breeze though.. :slight_smile:

TIA!

You can use Moods, which are the Homey equivalent of scenes.

Or the Zone Memory app;
The < group > app might be interesting as well. For instance you can add lamps to several groups; and you can add groups to an other group.

Oh thanks! But it seems to only be available in the phone or am I missing something? :slight_smile:

Didn’t know it existed even.. SO much new stuff.. :smiley:
Is there an app that can restore “last setting” on a light?
So like I have a light at 50%, then something changes it to 75% and when that event (motion) ends the light goes back to it’s previous setting?

Yes, that’s correct.

Yeah you’d take your time to discover the possibilities :wink:

You can store “default” dim levels in variables (which you create for it up front).

I’ve quite a simple scene setup for most lamps, day/evening/night levels, and a Movie level.
This also makes it quite easy to adjust certain levels, like, the kitchen lamp being too bright in the evening, or in case you replace the lamp with something new, simply adjust the stored values in the variable(s) for that lamp to match the ‘old’ lamp’s brightness.

Instead of having to adjust the default dim level in each related flow, I simply change the level in the lamp’s matching variable.

Which brings me to my actual answer;
In case a motion event is cleared, you can set the lamp to it’s default level by using it’s matching variable, and have it depend on the time of day, by calling the day value, or the night value for example.

If this sounds too fuzzy, I can share an example flow if you like.

One questions about moods..
They seem to pick up the state the light is in when creating the mood?
If it’s on when creating the mood, it’s on in the mood and if it has a specific colour/temp is has the same in the mood?
This would solve me moving all scenes from ST to Homey..
Then I’d just trigger each scene and create a mood for it.

When creating moods the setting for the lights is indeed set to their current temperature/color and or brightness, from their you could tweak it if you want to. But yes, activating your scenes in another system, would allow you to quickly make equivalent moods.
