I am looking at Homey as the next step on my Home Automation journey (HomeSeer to Hubitat and now looking).

One of the things I like about Hubitat is that you can define scenes and capture the current settings of the lights in that scene. That makes set up really simple, does Homey have a similar or simple mechanism to create scenes?

Hello Steve, and welcome.

I hope I have understood you correctly. I have six Hue lights in my living room. These are controlled in Homey via “Flow” and play a routine with different colours and brightness levels every evening.
There is also a programme that saves the status of devices at certain moments and can restore them at the touch of a button if they have been changed.

Homey uses what are known as Advanced Flows. These allow you to create and save complex scenes on a laptop, for example.

Moods are it in Homey (native) Available since Version 11 (Released 2 yrs ago).

(Customers owning Homey Pro (2016 — 2019) have the option to unlock Moods for a one-time purchase of €10.)

There’s also community apps which are able to capture states, in order to create and recall predefined scenes (not available for “Homey Cloud” instances):
