New Homey (Pro) model?

Might be off-topic, but on the Homey website at the Homey Pro page (https://homey.app/nl-nl/homey-pro/), in the video you see a shot that disappears very quickly. If you open the video in a separate tab and disable the loop, it shows an BCM54213PE. I’ve looked up that number and it’s an Ethernet controller.

I’ve looked up the internals of the Homey Pro mini in the FCC reports, but that one looks differently:

Could there be a new model coming? Or is it the Homey Ethernet adapter? I couldn’t find any internal photos of that one.

I couldn’t scan the QR, it’s likely not sharp enough

The QR code links to this address, which is not accessible (anymore):

The size of what is shown in the image seems too big to fit into the ethernet adapter (long and narrow).

That’s strange, I can’t find anything about that website or brand on Google either

Chatgpt can also find nothing from that website. Not with Whois or some other history websites.
I scanned the QR code and had the same website.

I tried scanning the QR another time and now I also have that website. Strange to put that on a communications module (it at least looks like one, but maybe it’s another component)

It might, of course, just be a mockup.

There is not currently any information available, as far as I know, on if and when the next Homey Pro will be released. I don’t expect a new model before late 2026/2027 (if any) if you you look at the prior release schedule.

Yeah good that you mention it @ChefsSlaad

@SunBeech you might want to have a thorough look at that Special Edition that should arrive at your doorstep any minute now

So it will also have an Ethernet port built-in?

Haha the chip you’re seeing is just the onboard Ethernet controller on the Raspberry Pi Compute Module 4, that’s always been there

The mini has Ethernet built-in, while the Pro 2026 uses the Ethernet Adapter.

As it stands now, it’s a shame they didn’t take the opportunity to double the storage memory as well. I currently only have 500 MB of storage memory left, and my app collection isn’t even that big.

This is what I can find while searching the CM4. It does have the Broadcom chip, but not that strange QR code. What’s that?

apcm.2tag.fr is what is results in

I fully reverse engineered the DevTools. I found some interesting stuff in there, but unfortunately didn’t find any references to the new model. I will try to post my findings here later today. I will also reverse engineer the web app

Oops… this won’t be a reason to upgrade my current HP23. Nice for new customers, but not worth upgrading.

Double RAM, but the same ROM. If I double my current apps, RAM might be sufficient, but ROM won’t. So, that HP26 won’t run the advertised 100 apps then.

And they also advertise “the same great antennas.” Hahaha!:rofl:
Tell that to all the users who run Zigbee2MQTT with (i.e.) a CC2652P-based Zigbee dongle.
My Zigbee network has never been as stable as when using Homey (which has the lesser EFR32MG21).

But Athom probably can’t easily switch Zigbee chips again without having all users re-pairing their Zigbee devices.

I’ll be more likely upgrading my HP23 with a new CM than buying a HP26…
