New Bridge not connecting to wifi

Just received my new Homey Bridge but can’t get it to connect to wi-fi.

I’ve disabled wi-fi-5. I’ve checked the SSID name is compatible. I’ve re-booted the device and the router.

I’m connected via a Virgin Media Hub 3 in modem mode and an Honor 3 router. My Homey is a self-hosted server installed on my Ugreen NAS. I’m experimenting with Homey for the first time and have got this to add Matter to my smart-home setup. Hopefully - with the community’s help - I’ll be able to get this working before my trial ends and I have to decide if I’m willing to pay for a subscription. :crossed_fingers:

Does it show any error message? Does the Bridge show up in your WiFi router (you can often check this in your router’s mobile app)? Have you checked if it works with a Homey Cloud instance to eliminate SHS/LAN issues?

Only saying that it “Can’t connect to wi-fi” and am I sure I got the password correct - which I do.

It doesn’t seem to be showing up on the router but, if it’s not connecting to wifi I’m not sure I’d expect to see it there?

I don’t have a Homey Cloud instance set up.

You can create one for free, just go to More->Homey SHS->Add new Homey. This might be worth a try since then you’ll know if it’s a WiFi or SHS issue

Got it!

Not sure which it was causing the conflict but I switched off my wi-fi extender and remembered that the router had a “backup wi-fi 5” option that you have to scroll down about 3 pages to see. Once those were off it connected and is currently updating itself. Hopefully, I’ll now be able to use matter and get my Ikea stuff working.

Thanks for your swift advice! Much appreciated.
