Yea i didnt realy need the extra storage space … but sins i was going to get a CM4 module with as much memory as possible i might aswell overkill the storage at the same time… never know if i could use it later on… atm im not realy in a hurry considering the space. Im however interested in eather turning the swap off or making it smaller.

Oke thank you, yes the swap I don’t get that either. Because its only used when the Ram is full correct?

With which tools did you get the heatsink off please ?

Thank you.

De-solder the connector … or damage the heat-sink during removal and then turn the screws upside down (which might not be ideal)

Yep, or damage the heatsink during removal and replace it with a better one for 3 euro and remove 3 blades for easy installing the new one :muscle:

Actualy i modded a alenkey i had around and made it as short as possible on one of the axel lengts. I used a plier to detach the 2 white holders of the main board so i could get bet the main board and the carrier board. The 4 nuts on the top you can hold with your fingers.

Yea there is def a point there for the heatsink i intend to use and that is without desoldering you will only be able to remove 3 of the screws the one closest to the soldered point can not be removed easely it is doable if you first remove the stacked boards and use a litle force however putting in a new screw that is longer is not doable unless you switch the direction on it. But you do risk breaking the soldering point doing that last screw so desoldering is the safest way there.

do you have pictures of that. i dont see how you did it to be honest. thanks in advance

Unfortually i didnt take a photo of that specificly ill remember to take a photo off it next time i take it appart when i do my heatsink replacement. Need to find the right screws for it somewhere.

So excited to hear the word jailbreak on Homey, so am I correct to say in near future we can buy CM4 and built our own Homey Pro by adding all those Zigbee /zwave module to a development board

Is it possible to jailbreak the 2019 model, so you can login with ssh?

And do a backup of everything without paying the subscription?

No, you can’t

It’s only E10,- / year… And it saved me hundreds of hours already.

There was a promotion somewhere to buy ‘backup’ for the next 5 or 10 years. Not sure whether it is still ‘current’. I cannot seem to find it anymore at present.

I could still find the ‘year’ promo: Homey Pro Backups (12 Months) | Homey Store (in dutch but use the search function to find your own localised page (or change the nl-nl part in the URL)

FYI, a Jailbreak (Software) is something else than a Mod (hardware).
For jailbreak, please use the jailbreak topics, for example: [HowTo] [Modding] Guide to Jailbreak a Homey Pro 2023
