You used module without Wifi and Bluetooth then…
Wrong CM4 module
Should be CM410832
Thank you! I will try the correct module.
Hmm: CM4108032 …
Replaced mine with the CM4108032.
Was a bit of a hassle, the USB back-up resulted in a boot loop. Reset to factory and then used the cloudback up. Afterwards did the partition resize with gparted on a raspberry pi emulation on a macbook silicon.
Thanks for all the previous info and tutorials!
Next project is to replace the heatsink.
Just curious : what’s the status/outcome at the moment ? New right module ? and if so, is it working ??
I want this also, did you become a tutorial
Outcome is that you can choose only right CM4 with Wifi and BLE :
CM4108032 / CM4104032 - re-partition required to have use of remaining eMMC space, Cloud restore only (USB restore might result in damaged/unreadable partitions)
CM4108016 / CM4104016 - re-partition required to have use of remaining eMMC space, Cloud restore only (USB restore might result in damaged/unreadable partitions)
CM4108008 / CM4104008 - USB and Cloud restore should both work
I tested USB restore between CM4104032 and CM4108032 with new partitions, and it doesn’t work, results in bootloop because the USER partition is damaged.
Note :
- no support from Athom, don’t open support tickets for modded variants
- you need still some soldering equipment and some of the skills
- when you are doing this mod, FAN / Heatsink upgrade is suggested - many of us already described multiple paths, I’m happy with my active cooling
- I’m now running stable with 8GB RAM and having/running 75 Apps / 360 devices - just to give a perspective
I used this one
I am about to upgrade/replace my CM4 module for more memory. Will that also change the wifi address. And if so what do I need to do to connect to the homey again ?
Thanks for the help.
No, not in my case when I replaced the module.
Just make sure that you have a proper backup!
Make an Homey online/cloud Backup and also an local usb backup(with the homey usb tool an a chrome webbrowser ) before Upgrade and after Upgrade also both. I would also make sure you gave setup an local user for local connect and have a simple possibility to get to know the new local wifi adress. I would recommend an special 5 ghz wifi Connection to a smarthome subnet
Do you also have the Homey USB LAN Adapter?
I have both Connected. The USB LAN Adapter to my main local ip subnet and the wifi (acces setitinfs) to a 5 Ghz Wifi that is Connected to another local ip subnet for my smarthome devices.
As the CM4108032 modules are hard to get these days (and what the hack do we need 32gb storage for)
I purchased a CM4108016 from Farnell (as they still have stock) with 8gb memory and 16gb storage and did the upgrade. i made the backup with the https://usb.homey.app/ and restored it sucessfully.
Good step to use the available version with also plenty of memory.
