I have invested in a few Tado radiator valves and Temperature sensors. These are the first thread devices in my house and are all battery powered.
I am finding that since they are all located at the edges of my house they are falling off of my network since the range is a bit too far.
I am assuming that if I put a few thread based plugs around the house, these will act as routers and solve the problem. I have noted a few on the market, but it is unclear which, if any, support native energy metering in Homey.
Does anyone have any experience with a Homey thread based plug that supports native energy metering? I really want this in Homey, not as a separate app that I need to run on my phone.
Maybe the signal can be improved somewhat.
Thread uses the same frequency band and channels as zigbee does.
Idk if it’s possible to view and change the Thread channel (try tools.developer.homey.app).
Have your 2.4GHz wifi channel set to a fixed channel, preferably 1, 6 or 11, depending on the Thread channel.
Because Homey Thread & zigbee share the hardware: When you also use zigbee devices, consider moving Thread, or zigbee, to an other system (Home Assistant, zigbee2mqtt). These can be ‘integrated’ with Homey.
