Managing your climate in the Bathroom with Advanced Flows

A couple of years ago i published my way of managing the climate in the bathroom. Now we have advanced flows i like to share my new flow which is a big step forwards, because all i like to manage can be done in one flow.

Unfortunately there is no option to share the flow, but i like to show it with a screendump. If there are any questions left, please don’t hesitate to send me your question.

Now I need to try to tweak this for my own bathroom to work :sweat_smile: I’m new to this so bear with me…

Because automation is a dynamic thing there are always small changes. Thats why it’s possible that not everything is similar then a few weeks ago. For instance now i have infrared panels in the bathroom for heating. And i added some sandglass timers to switch the mirror heating and an other fan off. So i can interrupt it instead of waiting that a flow is finished when you use the “wait” card

@Deadlifter A view questions:

  1. With this don’t you have a lot of calculations? Cause humidity changes all the time.

  2. What exactly are you calculating here? I know it’s the Average RV but why this formula? I can’t figure out why these is needed. I made my own with the humidity of a different room and added 25 to it. Cause the bathroom is mostly 20% higher than the living room in normal state. So if I have the living room humidity at 50% and the bathroom rises above 75% the ventilation will turn on.

With this don’t you have a lot of calculations? Cause humidity changes all the time.
Yes humidity changes all the time, certainly when you take a shower or a bath (and thats why you want to act this flow on that behaviour). But in general it changes but not that fast that your flow is spamming.

What exactly are you calculating here? I know it’s the Average RV but why this formula?
This is a good way to calculate the average, what you are doing is calculating the humidity + 25 that’s not an average. With average x 0,9 + real x 0,1 you create small differences. I hope this is understandable. Just try it an you see it works

Humidity is also changing during the season. I dunno where you live. But it can change from 25% up to 95% in a bathroom, depending on wind direction, weather or morning and evening. That’s why i calculate on changes. And this is where i get an average, to manage the humidity after using the shower. Then i plus it with 3% higher after starting so the humidity gets back to that point and leaves your bathroom in a normal condition. Because of the small differences during the day on that average you get a situation that average + 3% is a good number to manage your humidity.

I’m still struggling to get the best settings for this one.

To be clear, I take the average humidity from each previous calculations. Every time the humidity changes you calculate the new average RV from the previous average RV outcome. When I do this I get a much higher limit RV then what the bathroom was before taking a shower. Let say humidity was 59%, and eventually I get a limit RV of 74% and the high ventilation switches off and goes into low ventilation mode.

Maybe I do something wrong with the above calculations. But switching high ventilation off at 64% looks to me to be a better humidity. Isn’t it better to calculate the average RV at the beginning before taking a shower and set the limit at let say +5% and don’t change the limit during showering. So it always goes to plus 5% original humidity and after that it switches off to low ventilation?

Am I doing something wrong with the first calculation?

Any one else maybe?
