Mac Browser Quirk

Does anyone know how to remove this new feature apple seem to have added to mac/ios which now highlights the text in the flow boxes when trying to create a box round a group of boxes to move? Looked in Feature Flags but can’t see anything.

Same in Chrome and Safari

I’ve the same issue and if someone know how to solve this, I would like to get the hint too

Hmm, I don’t see it? I tried both Arc (Chromium) and Safari 18.0.1

Did you add any new browser extensions recently?

I disabled all extensions. Doesn’t matter - the issue still exists.

So I looked at it some more. I think whatever library they are using to build the draggable canvas interferes with some text elements. If you drag when the cursor has the “text” icon (thin kinda uppercase i shape) then, text gets selected. What’s weird though is that it seems random when that icon appears. It can happen out in the middle of the “empty” canvas area but if you start the drag with that cursor, it also selects text.

On a separate note, the performance of the advanced flow screen has been really poor for me the past couple of weeks. I don’t remember it lagging this much in the past, even if I only have a half dozen cards in the flow. Heck, even connecting the first two cards together lags in any browser I try. Hopefully it’s a library update that introduced a bug, but if they rewrote the underlying Advanced Flow UI to use a different technology under the hood, I’m afraid I might be waiting a while for a performance fix…

I believe this may have sorted it!

  1. Open the Settings app or System Settings and go to General > Language & Region.
  2. Turn off the switch for Live Text.
