LIFX needs repair/reconnect several times monthly to work properly. Restarting the app helps. Problem is always indicated with connection timeouts and no operation.
Who are you addressing?
Is this a known issue with LIFX?
I have not experienced similar problems with other devices.
I have two LIFx bulbs. They have been rock sold stable for me. One has been online for a year with no issues. Could be a defect but before going there it seems your bulb works for a while then stops. These bulbs work on WiFi. They also work both from the cloud and locally depending on… is your internet stable? Is your WiFi stable? Does your WiFi provide sufficient power to reach the bulb? Is there something causing interference, perhaps another competing WiFi? These questions can be hard to answer because you cannot see or feel radio. Radio isn’t as straight forward and logical as it seems because you can’t see it. There’s a bit of voodoo.
Try temporarily relocating the LIFx bulb 5 to 20 feet (2 to 7 meters). See if this changes anything for awhile. If it does then it’s likely not 5ge bulb and likely on the comic action side. . If you in an apartment or an area with othe WiFi’s then perhaps your WiFi is getting over powered. Maybe your lifx is in a radio fring, maybe moving it a foot (10cm) will fix it.
Do you have a different smart bulb? Does that work?
Thanks for the response.
My Wifi is stable based on +50 other devices (different brands) that have no problems. The problem seems to be the connection between Homey and the LIFX cloud, that is broken. Sometimes repair helps, but sometimes the the LIFX app in Homey also needs to be restarted. I suspect there is a memory leak somewhere.
I have several LIFX bulbs, and when the problem occurs, it affects them all, and reconnection/restart also helps for all bulbs.
I have never experienced problems when IFTTT managing LIFX bulbs. This problem origins from Homey.
