LED ring more configuration options and consistency please

I have a Homey Pro and a Homey Bridge. I have noticed in Flows to change the colour/animation of the LED ring, it is different between the two devices. Despite them both having the same LED Ring, and normally showing the same rainbow colour effect. The Bridge is missing the “loading” animation effect.

Also, as they are just addressable LEDs, it would be really great if there were more options for animations and length of time (currently limited to 10 seconds) so you could use them in Flows to provide visual notifications, like flash red until you correct a problem with a device for example.

Examples of animations like:

Breathing (fade in and out)

Slow flash

Fast flash

Set a number of flashes to repeat after a pause

Rotating (single colour, and multiple colours)

This could be very helpful for notifications when you have a message, a device has an error, showing when your alarm system is activated/deactivated/or about to activate.

They took all the LED fun out of the newer models, so you’ll need a (Pro) 2016-2019 model for that :man_shrugging:

I’m hoping it’s just a firmware thing that a future update will provide. Which is why I posted here, with the hope they would read it and realise it’s a good idea. Sucks when they take functionality away :confused:

I wouldn’t know why they removed it, but I doubt it’ll be reverted.

I have a workaround flow to use the led ring for many visual notifications. Works like a charm :innocent:
