Just got 13.2.0 and matter died

Apparently got an update last night and it’s now on 13.2.0 and all matter devices now sports a fashionable red triangle.
I have plenty of Google Home devices also acting a border routers but since they also have connection issues they drag everything else with them.

I’ve read about a 13.2.0.rc2 update but I’m guessing that’s the precursor to the 13.2.0 Stable I have now?

How do I get the Google homes to talk to Homey again so my matter devices start working?

TIA!

Contact Athom support.

Google Home works independently from Homey, so that must be a network issue then. Have you tried rebooting your router?

Correct.

I have disabled auto firmware updates ages ago, to prevent these kind of “surprises”.
But it’s curious though, the changelog doesn’t mention Matter at all for v13.2.0!
https://homey.app/en-us/wiki/homey-pro-firmware-changelog/

So you’d take a look at your wifi network to ensure stable functioning Ggl Thread router devices

Okay but they’re on the same VLAN and I’m also got mDNS setup to speak over the different VLANS just because..
And it’s been working fine for a month or more and after a reboot it just disconnected..

Do you know if there’s any logs that would pick up when they aren’t talking to each other that I can analyse the sh!t out of.

Edit:
Check the changelog and Rc2 does mention matter so I’m guessing they found something
v13.2.0-rc.2
Core Updated translations.
Matter Fixed an issue that could cause Matter to stop working.

Oddly enough it seems like rc5 was released after 13.2.0?

v13.2.0-rc.5
CoreUpdates translations.
ZigbeeAdds endpoint for viewing source route table.
Z-WaveVarious bug fixes for regressions introduced in v13.2.0.

Same here with Shelly Gen4!

I’m having serious stability issues with 20 Shelly Gen4 devices (1 Gen4, 1 Mini Gen4 and 2PM Gen4) connected to Homey Pro via Matter.

All devices were updated to the latest firmware and initially paired successfully using the Matter numeric codes manually. Everything worked correctly for several hours.

The next morning, all devices appeared offline simultaneously in Homey with “device not responding/network issue” errors.

Additional details:

  • Same issue on all 20 devices
  • Alexa is also unable to discover them
  • Disabling/enabling Matter sometimes removes the Matter pairing code completely from the Shelly app
  • Devices remain online and accessible in the Shelly app
  • Problem seems related specifically to Matter connectivity/session stability

Has anyone experienced similar issues with Shelly Gen4 + Homey Pro + Matter?
Any stable workaround or recommended setup?

Thanks!

Yes, just connect the devices with Homey via the LAN instead of Matter

Yeah I do the same..

Add the device in the shelly app, then add it into homey via the shelly app in homey and Any Shelly WiFi device

No.
Here’s a very good changelog with release dates:

Original changelog (no timestamps):

And I got issues with my Aqara lamp after I got 13.2.0. I hope they fix this issue fast

Ja hier het zelfde met Aquara lampen, deze gan an en uit

They are but don’t work.. the are already added.

Should I delete and paring again using de Shelly app in Homey apps?

Sorry… probably I’m not following you tip because I very new on this topic…

The official updatelog is where I got the info from.

It’s probably just missing the text -r.2

But it is what it says.

Question remains though.

Why doesn’t homey wait longer for replies from the GH?

Devices on the same vlan, mdns active and working shouldn’t have a problem.

Why can’t I force it to try to connect?

And I’m apparently not alone reading posts here and other topics.

An example.

Subsequent RCs of the same version are cumulative. So you need to combine the info of all RCs of that specific version to get the full change log.

Yeah I guess they just missed adding it.

Ah, yes, they forgot to add this rc.2 Matter fix description to the stable changelog of v13.2.0
(assuming all rc.x fixes get promoted to stable)

But in your case it should have said:
"fixed an issue that caused Matter to start working":face_with_peeking_eye:

:rofl::rofl::rofl:

Yup!

For anyone else finding this thread at a later stage..

There’s matter tools in the developer portal

Lots of stuff there that was helpful.

Thank you. For other Noobs: Had the same Matter problem with 13.2.0, switched on “Experimental updates” in the Dev Tools, checked for updates in the app, and it installed 13.2.1.rc4, which promptly fixed the problem.

Ahaaa.. Let’s hope then!
