Issue Zwave migration Homey Pro 2019 to 2026

Nope, no news yet from my end.

Got a message from Athom support. There is probably an issue in the firmware. They are investigating it but can’t tell how long it will take to provide a fix.:face_exhaling:

I got the same reply and then the case was closed. I feel like if you’re buying a quite expensive piece of hardware that I now can’t use at all and where I’m expected to just sit and wait - isn’t a minimum requirement that they alert me when they have this fixed at least?

Unsure if fellow Homey users here can help you on how Athom treats it’s customers.

In general, fixes are published per Homey Pro and Homey Pro mini Changelog | Homey, republished here:

Got a fix today from Homey support and that worked for me!

If you currently do not have a backup of your Homey Pro (Early 2019), could you create a new backup first? For this process we will need a backup from a state where it already works, which is on your old Homey.

After making a backup of your Homey Pro (Early 2019), please ensure that it is no longer powered on to avoid network conflicts when restoring your Homey Pro (2026).

When you do have a backup of your Homey Pro (Early 2019), could you install an experimental update to your Homey Pro (2026)?
You can enable experimental updates by going to Homey Developer Tools , select your Homey Pro (2026) on the top-left (under your user icon), then enable the slider ā€œEnable experimental updatesā€
After enabling the experimental updates, please follow these steps on the Homey Mobile App

Go to More (…)
Go to Settings
Go to Updates
Tap Check for Updates
Install the experimental update (12.13.0-rc.4)
More information about experimental updates can be found in the following article: https://support.homey.app/hc/en-us/articles/12199889665308-Enabling-experimental-updates-on-Homey-Pro.

After the update is installed and your Homey Pro (2026) has rebooted, please reset your Homey Pro (2026), using the pinhole at the bottom by holding it for 30 seconds until the Homey LED ring is pulsing red.
More information about resetting this way can be found in the following article: https://support.homey.app/hc/en-us/articles/7261843930396-Resetting-Homey-Pro-to-factory-defaults.

After that, set up your Homey Pro again, after setting up Wi-Fi again please wait 20 minutes before continuing
After that, restore the backup from your Homey Pro (Early 2019) again.
After restoring the backup, again wait 20 minutes before continuing to use the device. This way we can ensure that the Z-Wave network is initialised correctly.

Thanks Wouterr. I can can also confirm that this worked.

The first upgrade (out-of-the-box) ended up with an empty z-wave list (from the developer page). I resetted and tried again several times. Still empty.

Came here, enabled experimental, installed 12.13.0-rc.6, resetted with the pin, waited the 20 minutes, installed backup from the 2019 (just waited on the restore screen on my phone), and waited another 20 minutes. Then all my fibaros came back to life. Thank g… I have like 40 of those… Thanks!

I can also confirm that this procedure works! Thanks for sharing this!

Indeed it works! Thanks a lot. Hope that they notify other people via the manual.

Wow, this is an absolute lifesaver. Had the same issue, but the rc6 update and the 20min wait fixed the issue.

Worked like a charm. Thank you so so much!!

Mine got the experimental 13.1.0-rc.5

Worked for me too, thank you very much:)

i“m on experimental 13.1.2-rc.4

The trick today is not about installing experimental firmware…
It was valid from March 4th, 2026 until the stable firmware v13.0.0 got released.

So, the fix should be present in (all) newer stable versions released after

Meaning, the fix should be included in the most recent stable version as well, being v13.1.0.

If not, contact homey.app/support please.
