At that point, we see some feedback here. I did find some more postings here in the community and elsewhere arround the Web.
Seems, you can have a bunch of IKEA devices without any trouble.
Or even with trouble, don´t get a single one working.
I am in touch with Athom support since yesterday (likely round 3 tomorrow).
I will update the post, as we come to a conclusion.
Cheers,
Ralf
I have a similar setup, and about a dozen items with more being purchased. I have to admit, it is very rare to have the first attempt successful for the pairing. But once paired, no issues. And I have a Unifi network running.
Hello,
just update regarding the IKEA Grillplats Smart Plugs, pairing directly into Homey thread network since Matter Update 1.5 from Homey now possible! Before you must go the pairing process over iOS, now you can pair them directly on homey, i have reset all my plugs and teach them new directly on Homey!
Hi there,
final update here:
I had some round with Athom support.
At some point, we come to a thread router mesh running on my eero Wifi router.
I disabled it. Rebooted Homey. No luck.
Rebooted Homey a few days later.
- → now 3 GRILLPLATS in a row connect with no trouble at all, even quite fast.
I am using the IKEA App and paring via Homey, no iOS etc.
Using the numeric code.
So, at this stage: work´s, as expectd.
Problem was eero thread network.
The MYGGBETT still don´t work - but this seem to be trash in a quite common sense.
On top, Athom informed me:
„This has probably to do with the update to version 13.3.0 which improved matter stability and upgraded to matter 1.5!“
Cheers,
Ralf
i was told by athom support that matter 1.5 has improvements to Matter/Thread commissioning. after updating my homey pro i was also able to add 2 plugs so far with no issues. whereas a couple of weeks ago i could not.
athom support did suggest to turn off other thread networks as it might be interfering. i didnt need to when i was able to add the grillplats plugs successfully after the update.
oddly enough i didnt have issues with MYGGBETT door sensor. i did have to stay right next to my homey hub to add them since i dont have any repeaters to extend my thread mesh network. has worked since i had them which is about a few weeks now. big improvement to the old zigbee parasoll.
this was annoying but glad the update to matter 1.5 sorted this issue out. now i can start adding my other ikea matter devices throughout the house ![]()
I tryed to include IKEA MYGSPRAY motion sensor to my Homey 2026. Nothing worked for me for weeks. Rebooting homey, setting up an new Thread/matter network, resetting the devices. Nothing was successful. So I ignored the sensor and let it stay for another 2 weeks without even trying to pair it. Then one day I saw an update to Homey saying there were changes to the Matter stack. So I tried my luck again and oh boy what a relief. It worked straight away without changing anything. Other matter devices worked out of the box. Especially the mygbett door sensors worked flawless for me.
