Ikea Tradfri | Blinds stop reacting after Homey reboot

For some reason (I don’t know yet) my Ikea zigbee Blinds do not react to any command, after Homey restarts due an update of reboot. When I used once the UP or DOWN button on the Blinds itself, it wil work with Homey again. So after an update (every 1-3 weeks) I do need to control it once on the Blinds itself :face_with_peeking_eye:

Anyone the same issue or better, a solution?

Yes!

Unfortunately not.

I had already contacted Athom Support about this about 5 months ago. This was their answer:

This issue has already been reported by other users. I can’t give any guarantees on when this issue will be found and resolved, but please know that it has been forwarded to our development team and it will be investigated. We hope to resolve this issue as soon as possible.

(Ticket ID #127259)

My please and suggestion is to contact Athom support as well. You can also add the link from this topic, or mention my former ticket ID number.

Thnx!

Usually this takes a long time due to lower priority, partly due to not having a test model. Coincidentally, I had an even more annoying case with iBlinds (another app) and eventually temporarily gave up 1 copy for testing purposes. In the meantime, a new official app is in development :tada: Maybe someone would like to make a proposal for this to make 1 copy available?

Sometimes the weirdest issues disappear when you PtP Homey after a firmware update
(Pull the Plug for 10 minutes).

Consider to turn off auto updates. Usually you don’t need each and every update.
Decide for yourself when you run the updates.

(Beta) Updates are announced at Homey’s timeline, and @ Athom’s Slack channel:

Hi Peter, Good point I will try PtP out. Auto updates are already off for years  for this reason.

Not for me. A PTP has the same effect in my case as an FW update or a normal restart.

of course a soft reboot should have a similar effect, but a PtP sometimes can be the only working option.
