I found some links that discuss this topic. I will study them to see if I can do what I intended.
Finally, something has changed. For some weeks now, it seems that the battery detection is working on the sensors again, and the battery life is holding up so far. The battery life probably won’t last the whole year, but it should hold up for a few months now. As for the battery life, we’ll see.
The funny thing is that I just bought about 10pcs of new sensors from Aqara. So ‘thanks’ for that, Athom.
As for getting the IKEA Dirigera hub, it seems like a bad idea to me. I got the Homey precisely so I wouldn’t have to do that. It’s not an option "
after mater update on dirigera, you can transfer your dirigera hub to homey and then it works.
Working perfectly here now for some weeks. Battery has lost max 1% on some of them in 3-4 weeks. So in a year 15% max?
I have an impression that my sensors started to work fine on their own, roughly 2-3 weeks ago. They just started to send their statuses to homey as they should. What happened?
Same feeling here, I’m removed Dirigera Hub now to test all te sensors directly with Homey, I hope you are right and form now everything will have how it’s needed
Just let me know if it work
In the end 2 of them lost connection again…
It looks very promising, it’s already the second week and the battery still holds its full capacity.
Same thing, false alert, they are not working properly now
battery status doesn’t update…
Never did for me…
Unfortunately I can confirm this too
Yes, it seems that it stopped working again with the recent last update 12.1 uffff
It updated for 2 out pf 3 sensors for me… Black magic. Did they fix something?
I’m glad to see that I’m not the only one. I have bought a number of Ikea smart devices and all of them worked perfectly directly with Homey Pro. (No Ikea hub) except the Parasoll sensor. Basically I can see it being added to my device list, but no alarm get triggered and there is no battery indicator. So it is useless as is.
i was hoping that the recent posts about battery life and the battery indicator/status that i could get mine working. im also using the ikea aaa rechargeable battery they recommend. only lasted over a week. i didnt even take notice until i left my fridge door open for a while which has this sensor. if im reading the posts correctly it sounds like the issue has occurred since the latest update was pushed through?
honestly didnt care too much about the battery indicator/status as half the time it didnt work for my ikea devices but they lasted a long time.
firmware on my parasoll sensor is 1.0.19. not sure whether ikea has a newer firmware update that is relating to this issue. from what im reading here it appears to be the latest.
i should have tested these sooner as i had these sitting in boxes collecting dust for months now. just didnt have the time to set them up until recently. kinda regret buying more recently. just glad they didnt cost too much.
hopefully the other ikea smart devices such as their new motion sensor and water leakage sensor does not have the same battery issues as the ikea door/window sensor. not sure whether you have those sensors @V_G since you mentioned you only have issues with the parasoll window/door sensor.
i do have some new eneloop/sanyo/panasonic rechargable aaa battery which is the same voltage as the ikea ones. i might try it if the ikea battery dies again.
jus hoping i dont need to buy the ikea hub if there is a firmware update to fix this issue.
just wanted to ask how are your sensors with the ebl 1100mAh battery now? 2nd time round using the ikea aaa 750mAh battery it died again a week later. I’ve replaced them with eneloop pro 950mAh battery since i’ve already had some lying around.
I am using it on a fridge door but would have thought it last longer than a week.
At my place, the 1100 lasts about 4 months before needing to be recharged.
Aften last homey IKEA Update… 3 Month with ikea batteri. But still no batteri indication in app.
