Ikea Kajplats E14 troubles

hey guys,

Does anybody know how to connect the Ikea Kajplats E14 (white spectrum + color) bulb to my homey pro (2023)?

I’ve been trying with 2 bulbs through matter but both the ‘general matter connecting method’ and through the ‘ikea app connecting merhod’ Homey doesn’t find the bulbs. I can connect them through zigbee but them i can’t control the color, only the brightness. I tried resetting them several times and also switching from matter to zigbee and back. But it all doesnt help… Hope to get some help!

Not sure which one of the general method you’ve tried, because there are multiple connecting methods:

From what I’ve read, the new Ikea Matter+zigbee smart devices only have zigbee onboard to control them directly with the Ikea remote switches / dimmers.
It sounds “logical” the color can’t be controlled anylonger with the generic Homey zigbee driver.

When you used the Ikea app, all functions should work, but that’s an assumption

Avoid this bulb like the plague guys

I got just one for my partner’s bedside lamp

All fine for a couple of days, but once the thread mesh sorted itself out, this tiny bulb somehow became the Thread Leader of my home.

After that, every other device (50+ Thread) started to behave erratically.
One bulb per group in other rooms missing flows
Instability across other devices and frequent drop outs.

I then removed the bulb and everything went back to normal.

I then re-added the bulb in the hope it was just a glitch, but one week later and the same behaviour occured, the bulb become a Thread leader and every other device was fraught with issues.

I also have a G95 Kajplats in another room and that’s been fine.

The Kajplats E14 is an awful device with awful firmware.

Just put it in the bin.
