I think we can all agree that building complex Advanced Flows on a phone would be a UI nightmare, which is probably why it hasn’t been done. However, there is a clear need for “management on the go.”
Instead of a full editor, I suggest a simplified, static view for the Homey mobile app – let’s call it “Advanced Flow Lite”.
The idea is that users shouldn’t be able to move cards or draw lines on their phones, but they should be able to:
-
Edit values and variables directly.
-
Adjust timers and delays.
-
Toggle blocks/cards on and off.
This would solve the “desktop dependency” we have today without overcomplicating the mobile interface. It also eliminates the need for us to create “dummy variables” and virtual buttons just to control our logic from our phones.
I truly believe this “interaction over creation” approach is the missing piece for Advanced Flow. It’s about being able to tweak the house while you’re actually in it, not just when you’re sitting at your desk.
What do you guys think? Is this the middle ground we’ve been waiting for?
