IDEA: "Advanced Flow Lite" for mobile – Interaction over Creation

I think we can all agree that building complex Advanced Flows on a phone would be a UI nightmare, which is probably why it hasn’t been done. However, there is a clear need for “management on the go.”

Instead of a full editor, I suggest a simplified, static view for the Homey mobile app – let’s call it “Advanced Flow Lite”.

The idea is that users shouldn’t be able to move cards or draw lines on their phones, but they should be able to:

  • Edit values and variables directly.

  • Adjust timers and delays.

  • Toggle blocks/cards on and off.

This would solve the “desktop dependency” we have today without overcomplicating the mobile interface. It also eliminates the need for us to create “dummy variables” and virtual buttons just to control our logic from our phones.

I truly believe this “interaction over creation” approach is the missing piece for Advanced Flow. It’s about being able to tweak the house while you’re actually in it, not just when you’re sitting at your desk.

What do you guys think? Is this the middle ground we’ve been waiting for?

Excellent and most needed idea. I have only had my Homey Pro (2026) a few weeks, and I haven’t finished automating my entire home yet… but I already have over 300 variables used in Flows, due to the lack of ability to access Advanced Flows on a mobile or tablet.

At least a tablet Advanced Flows editor “lite” is needed, so you can make timing/brightness/colour changes etc in different rooms. Now that would be a game changer!

You can already make simple edits to Advanced Flows on your tablet. Simply open Homey’s web app in the browser on your tablet. You cannot, though, perform actions that require the context menu/right click or e.g. delete a flowcard. Maybe that would work if you connect an external mouse. So if you just need to change a value in an existing flowcard, then you co so via a tabet.

Oh I have tried all the janky bodge workarounds… but it would be SOOOOOOOOOO much better if there was a proper solution in the app. I was just adding to a suggestion that would improve the Homey app significantly.

Not sure what could be improved, I use advanced flow for 99.9% on my tablet’s browser with just an additional BT mouse. It’s even possible to perform minor edits on my phone’s browser.
