I purchased an EVE power plug that is listed in the homey app. as being supported. It’s a matter plug and I have the homey pro mini. I opened EVE app when adding a new device and it just times out. I also tried opening the Matter app and that didn’t work. From everything I’ve researched it sounds like I need WIFI but homey mini doesn’t have it. What can I do to add matter to the mini?
If your device is this one it uses Matter over Thread. WiFi won’t help you. Instead you need Thread which is supported by the mini. Your phone needs to have Bluetooth switched on (details are exchanged initially via BT, before the Thread connection is established); everything needs to be close together to get pairing to work; your power plug needs to be in pairing mode.
FWIW I recently had problems connecting a Matter device to a HP23 it timed out every time I tried, until I restarted it.

Indeed (many) Eve devices use Matter-over-Thread nowadays.
Eve also sold/sells Thread-only devices, these cannot be added to Homey.
